Romanian car market, fifth largest decline in EU after ten months

The Romanian car market registered the fifth largest decline in the European Union in the first ten months of 2010, down three places to the 17th spot, in terms of new car registrations, according to the Association of European Carmakers (ACEA). Romania registered 70,629 new passenger cars in the first ten months of 2010, down 26.6 percent on the year, while the EU auto market fell only 5.5 percent, to 11.2 million cars. In 2009, the Romanian car market ranked 14th in the EU, with 115,979 new car registrations, and was outranked by Ireland, Finland and Denmark in the first ten months of 2010.
