The target of adopting the euro by 2015 announced by Romania is much too optimistic, Peter Sanfey, chief economist of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), stated, yesterday, at a financial conference, Mediafax reports. “It’s no easy feat, and problems cannot be solved overnight. If you want to boost your macroeconomic level, you need to have the adequate legislation,” the ERBD official warned. According to the latter, one of the biggest problems Romania is facing at the moment is the problem of taxes. At the end of last week, the Central Bank Governor, Mugur Isarescu, stated, on the national radio, that 2015 will remain the set target for adopting the euro.
